Series on Moving Forward - Partnering by the Holy Spirit - Part II

What does it mean to walk in the Spirit?
This phrase means to live each moment in dependency on the Holy Spirit, sensitive to His voice, and
obedient to Him.As we go through each day, we should be aware of the presence of the Holy
Spirit with us.We should be totally submitted to Him. That means we must be sensitive to the
initial promptings of the Holy Spirit. When He speaks to our hearts, you and I should immediately obey. For example, we may be convicted to turn away quickly from things that tempt us to sin. The Spirit can give us the right words to encourage a hurting person, or lead us to do something unusually kind for a stranger. He may
even guide us to take a different route. Sometimes it will become clear why the Holy Spirit directed us one way and not another; other times, we may never know why. However, the wise man or woman will obey the Spirit’s voice at once. The Holy Spirit knows all things, including the future, and His guidance is always
for our benefit.

Setting our Minds on the Things of God
There is no doubt that we are in a spiritual battle. The good news is that the Holy Spirit is available
to help us wage war against sin. The key to victory is in setting our minds on the things of the Spirit,
not the things of the flesh (Rom. 8:5). In other words, we don’t think about how to gratify our sinful desires. Instead, we choose to focus on things which glorify and honor God. The Spirit of the Lord will equip us to live godly lives if our minds are set on Him. Three things work against us as believers: the world, the flesh, and the devil. This means that aside from direct temptation, Satan works through our own sensual desires and the world’s system, or way of thinking and operating. Remember that the devil can’t force believers to sin. He can tempt us—and will certainly try to do so. But we can resist Satan’s lies through the power of the
Holy Spirit. How do we do that?We should begin before we are even faced with temptation. If we have madeup our minds to obey God, no matter what, we are far more likely to win the spiritual battle and
not act sinfully. On the other hand, if we entertain temptation as an option and imagine what it would be like to fulfill sinful desires, we will almost surely give in to temptation eventually. Why? Because the mind governs how we speak, act, and handle different situations. That’s why the Bible says “prepare your minds for action,
keep sober in spirit” (1 Peter 1:13).What we think about determines, to a great extent, how we live.

Surrendering to the Holy Spirit
I challenge you to begin each morning with a prayer that goes something like this:“Father, I want You to guide me today and lead me. Speak to my heart. Make me sensitive to what is happening around me in the lives of those I meet. Fill me with Your supernatural joy, and use me today for Your purposes. I surrender fully to
You.” If you yield your will to the Holy Spirit and depend on His ability rather than your own, He will enable you to live a life that is pleasing to Christ.

CONCLUSION:
Do you want to live with real peace, contentment and joy in life? Do you want to have the power to overcome temptation or persevere through adversity? The answer is found in total surrender and obedience to the Holy Spirit. Set your mind on the things of God and trust the indwelling Holy Spirit to guide you, enable you, and empower you to obey His voice. When we remain sensitive to the Spirit’s guidance, depend upon Him totally, and obey Him, we have life at its very best.

Series on Moving Forward - Partnering by the Holy Spirit

Walking In The Spirit
KEY PASSAGE:
But I say, walk and live [habitually] in the [Holy] Spirit [responsive to and controlled and guided by the Spirit]; then you will certainly not gratify the cravings and desires of the flesh (of human nature without God). Galatians 5:16

SUPPORTING SCRIPTURE: Genesis 1:2, 26 | Zechariah 4:6 | John 14:16-17, 26; 15:26; 16:8-14 - Acts 1:7-8 | Romans 8:5-7, 11, 14-16 | 1 Corinthians 12:4-8 | Galatians 5:25 | Ephesians 1:13-14; 4:11-12 | Colossians 1:16 - 1 Peter 1:1

Who is the Holy Spirit?
Along with God the Father and Jesus the Son, the Holy Spirit is a member of the Trinity. As such, He was equally involved in the creation of the world (Gen.1:2, 26). Like Jesus, the Holy Spirit is a Person, with a personality, a will, and emotions. He is not an impersonal force

Many believers go their entire Christian lives and never understand the necessity and work of the Holy Spirit. Yet this topic is one of the most important ones in the Bible. Apart from the Holy Spirit, you and I simply cannot live a godly life. It is His ability that empowers us to resist sin and obey God. He helps us interpret Scripture and enables us to fellowship with the Lord. Without Him, no one can have a genuinely fruitful Christian life. The apostle Paul knew the significance of relying on the Holy Spirit. He wrote, “Walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh” (Gal. 5:16). Although we are brand-new creatures in Christ, each believer still has the flesh operating within him or her. The flesh is our tendency to sin or to rebel against God’s will for our lives. By walking in the Spirit, you and I can have the power to overcome the flesh and live victorious Christian lives.

What does the Holy Spirit do in our lives? He . . .

[1] Teaches believers and reminds us of what we have learned (John 14:26). He brings to mind verses and scriptural truth we have forgotten.

[1] Convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment (John 16:8-11).

[1] Testifies about Jesus, rather than Himself (John 15:26). He reveals our need for Christ and shows us how to depend on the Lord.

[1] Guides us into all truth (John 16:13).

[1] Dwells within every believer (Rom. 8:11). He lives within us the moment of salvation.

[1] Guides our steps and helps us discover the Father’s plans for us (Rom. 8:14).

[1] Assures us that we are saved. He “testifies with our spirit that we are children of God”(Rom. 8:16).

[1] Gives us spiritual gifts (1 Cor. 12:4-8).

[1] Empowers us, especially for evangelism (Acts 1:7-8). The disciples waited for the Holy Spirit before sharing the gospel even though they had walked with Jesus for three years.

[1] Equips us to minister to others (Eph. 4:11-12).

[1] Helps us pray. The Bible says He intercedes for us “with groaning too deep for words” (Rom. 8:26).

[1] Seals our salvation (Eph. 1:13). God chastises believers who sin. However, our status as His children doesn’t change.

CONCLUSION:
Do you want to live with real peace, contentment and joy in life? Do you want to have the
power to overcome temptation or persevere
through adversity? The answer is found in total
surrender and obedience to the Holy Spirit. Set
your mind on the things of God and trust the
indwelling Holy Spirit to guide you, enable you,
and empower you to obey His voice. When we
remain sensitive to the Spirit’s guidance, depend

upon Him totally and obey Him, we have life at its very best.

Kingdom Wisdom: Wisdom Keys - Quotes

Kingdom Wisdom: Wisdom Keys - Quotes

Our Deepest Fear
By Marianne Williamson
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

I Have a Hope Lyrics
By
Tommy Walker

I have a hope, I have a future
I have a destiny that is yet awaiting me
My life’s not over, a new beginning’s just begun
I have a hope, I have this hope

God has a plan, it’s not to harm me
But it’s to prosper me and to hear me when I call
He intercedes for me, working all things for my good
Though trials may come I have this hope

Chorus
I will yet praise Him, my great Redeemer
I will yet stand up and give Him glory with my life
He takes my darkness and He turns it into light
I will yet praise Him, my Lord my God

My God is for me, He’s not against me
So tell me whom then, tell me whom then shall I fear
He has prepared for me
Great works He’ll help me to complete
I have a hope, I have this hope

Goodness and mercy, they’re gonna follow me
And I’ll forever dwell in the house of my great King
No eye has ever seen all He’s preparing there for me
Though trials may come, I have this hope

Bridge
There’s still hope for me today
‘Cause the God heaven loves me

Moving Forward - Seeking The Presence & Partnership with God

Seeking The Presence & Partnership with God

KEY SCRIPTURE
The grace (favor and spiritual blessing) of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the presence and fellowship (the partnership; communion and sharing together, and participation) in the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen (so be it).
2 Corinthians 13:14 (Amplified Bible)

Scripture declares that; a man’s heart plans his way, but the LORD directs his steps. (Proverbs 16:9). For you to be able to achieve your goals and objectives, as you move forward this year; you will need the abiding PRESENCE and PARTNERSHIP with God daily. Jesus promises in John 14:16-17 that He “...will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever—the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. The Apostle Paul admonished us to seek the presence, fellowship, partnership, communion, sharing together and participation of the Holy Spirit daily.

Moses knew the importance of the abiding PRESENCE and PARTNERSHIP with God so well. In his attempt to pursue his divine assignment we read about discourse between him and God in Exodus 33: 12-19 (Divine Negotiations) Then Moses said to the LORD, “See, You say to me, ‘Bring up this people.’ But You have not let me know whom You will send with me. Yet You have said, ‘I know you by name, and you have also found grace in My sight.’ Now therefore, I pray, if I have found grace in Your sight, show me now Your way, that I may know You and that I may find grace in Your sight. And consider that this nation is Your people.”And He said, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.” Then he said to Him, “If Your Presence does not go with us, do not bring us up from here. For how then will it be known that Your people and I have found grace in Your sight, except You go with us? So we shall be separate, Your people and I, from all the people who are upon the face of the earth.” So the LORD said to Moses, “I will also do this thing that you have spoken; for you have found grace in My sight, and I know you by name.” And he said, “Please, show me Your glory.” Then He said, “I will make all My goodness pass before you, and I will proclaim the name of the LORD before you. I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.”

Moses got more than he bargained for. He sought God’s abiding PRESENCE but ended up with the assurance of His PRESNECE; His goodness; His Glory; Grace and God promising to declare His very Name before Him. How about that?
No matter what confounding questions, perplexing circumstances, or seemingly insurmountable dilemmas you are facing today, the solution to them is absolutely obvious to God. He knows the end from the beginning and has been where you are going. He has the most profound knowledge and understanding of every topic in the universe—including your situation. He also has the wisdom and gentleness necessary to help you overcome your deepest, most heart-wrenching issues in a way that builds you up and draws you closer to Him. With Him in the driver seat of your life, guarantees your success as you attempt to move forward this year. Psalm 32: 8 says; I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye; says the LORD.

Unfortunately when many Christians bow their heads in prayer, they do all the talking. Instead of taking time to listen to the One who has the perfect answers to all their needs, they continually pursue one-sided conversations that neither honor the Father nor solve their difficulties.
Don’t make the same mistake. Ecclesiastes 5:2 teaches, “God is in heaven and you are on the earth; therefore let your words be few.” You have the awesome, cross-bought privilege of approaching the Lord God Almighty for His grace and guidance. If you want Him to lead you, then you must take time to acknowledge His Presence and hear what He’s saying and heed His instructions. Go before Him with a humble heart and allow Him to direct your conversation. Proverbs 3:5-6 instructs us to “Trust in the LORD with all our heart, and lean not on our own understanding; in all our ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct our paths.

You cannot have a vibrant, powerful relationship with the Lord if you refuse to listen to Him. So spend time on your knees and present your plans to Him and then wait in silence before Him, focusing on His presence, His Word, and how He is speaking to your spirit. Then obey whatever He instructs you to do. Remember that a man’s heart plans his way, but the LORD directs his steps. (Proverbs 16:9).

Blessings!

Moving Forward - Action vs. Self-Delusion (Good Intentions)

Action vs. Self-Delusion (Good Intentions)

Key Scripture:
James 2:17-18 & 26
For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith (Knowledge) without works is dead also. Thus also faith  (Knowledge)by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. But someone will say, “You have faith,(Knowledge) and I have works.” Show me your faith (Knowledge) without your works, and I will show you my faith(Knowledge) by my works.

Knowledge fueled by emotion equals action. Action is the ingredient that ensures results. Only action can cause reaction. Further, only positive action can cause positive reaction.

Action. The whole world loves to watch those who make things happen, and it rewards them for causing waves of productive enterprise.

I see many people who are really sold on affirmations. And yet like our key scripture indicates; that “Faith (Knowledge) without action (works) serves no useful purpose.” How true!

I have nothing against affirmations as a tool to create action. Repeated to reinforce a disciplined plan, affirmations can help create wonderful results.

But there is also a very thin line between faith and folly. You see, affirmations  (Knowledge) without action can be the beginnings of self-delusion. And for your well-being there is little worse than self-delusion.

The man who dreams of wealth and yet walks daily toward certain financial disaster and the woman who wishes for happiness and yet thinks thoughts and commits acts that lead her toward certain despair are both victims of the false hope which affirmations or  (Knowledge) without action can manufacture. Why? Because words soothe and, like a narcotic, they lull us into a state of complacency.
Remember this: To Make Progress You Must Actually Get Started! And be self motivated and not wait on others!

The key is to take a step today. Whatever the project, start today. Start clearing out a drawer of your newly organized desk... today. Start setting your first goal... today. Start listening to motivational programs... today. Start a sensible weight-reduction plan... today. Start calling on one tough customer a day... today.

Start putting money in your new “investment for fortune” account... today. Write a long-overdue letter... today. Anyone can! Even an uninspired person can start reading inspiring books. Start building your prayer life today.... Start reading your bible today..... "Take the bull by the horn"! Take baby steps towards your goals!

Get some momentum going on your new commitment for the great life. See how many activities you can pile on your new commitment to the better life. Go all out!

Break away from the downward pull of negative gravity. Start your thrusters going. Prove to yourself that the waiting is over and the hoping is past—that faith  (Knowledge) and action (works) have now taken charge.

It’s a new day, a new beginning for your new life. With discipline you will be amazed at how much progress you’ll be able to make. What have you got to lose except the guilt and fear of the past?

Now, I offer you this challenge: See how many things you can start and continue in this, the first day of your new beginning.

God richly bless you!

Wisdom Nuggets for 2011

I do believe it’s appropriate and in order as Son’s of the Kingdom to know the mind of God “ABBA” for every New Year. Knowing His mind helps you align with His will, plan and purpose so that His Glorious Kingdom will come and will done in your life like it is in Heaven so He alone will be glorified.
In prior years we have gone through “Shakenings” – “Shiftings” – “Divine Alignments” and Repositioning and we are still experiencing the after shock waves of these works of God.
But I believe they have brought us to this moment in history. Through downloads from Heaven I have received the theme for the New Year we are about to enter into 2011 and want to share with you. Please take these words into your closet and allow the Holy Spirit help you muse on them - brood over them – meditate and pray them into the earth realm.

The theme of 2011 is: “Moving Forward; for I make ALL things New”
-      Moving forward from the natural into the SUPERNATURAL
-      Moving forward from the mind of God into the HEART OF GOD
-      Moving forward from the holy place into the HOLY OF HOLIES
-      Moving forward from ignorance into divine KNOWLEDGE & WISDOM
-      Moving forward from a still mate position into MOTION
-      Moving forward from prayerlessness into EFFECTUAL PRAYER
-      Moving forward from naivety into DIVINE STRATEGIES
-      Moving forward from lack of ownership into taking TERRITORIES – POSSESSIONS
-      Moving forward from fear into FAITH
-      Moving forward from the weeping nights into JOY IN THE MORNING
-      Moving forward from wondering into SECURITY – ESTABLISHMENT
-      Moving forward from defensive into OFFENSIVE
-      Moving forward from despair into HOPE
-      Moving forward from flesh filled life into a SPIRIT FILLED LIFE
-      Moving forward from the emotional realm into the SPIRIT REALM
-      Moving forward from no authority into taking your SEAT WITH CHRIST
-      Moving forward from the ordinary into the EXTRAORDINARY
-      Moving forward from obscurity into PROMINENCE
-      Moving forward from the job into WORK
-      Moving forward from a spectator to a willing and able PARTICIPATOR
-      Moving forward from shallowness into DEPTH
-      Moving forward from immaturity into MATURITY
-      Moving forward from a babe into SONSHIP
-      Moving forward from the human experience into the GOD EXPERIENCE
-      Moving forward from the old into the NEW

Moving forward in your destiny – assignment – purpose – new mindset – health – family – marriage – children – prayer life – Study of His Word etc…
It’s time to move from where you are towards your prophetic destiny because God has already gone ahead of you and on the move.  Begin to think of the thoughts that has been in your spirit (heart) all these years – begin to think of that idea that you have pushed to the back burner all these while – begin to do what you have talked about all these years but have never been able to take that first step.
The question that the Holy Spirit is asking you today is “WHY SIT HERE UNTIL YOU DIE?”

2 Kings 7
1 Then Elisha said, “Hear the word of the LORD. Thus says the LORD: ‘Tomorrow about this time a seah of fine flour shall be sold for a shekel and two seahs of barley for a shekel, at the gate of Samaria.’” PROPHETIC WORD
2 So an officer on whose hand the king leaned answered the man of God and said, “Look, if the LORD would make windows in heaven, could this thing be?”
And he said, “In fact, you shall see it with your eyes, but you shall not eat of it.”

UNBELIEF – LACK OF FAITH
3 Now there were four leprous men at the entrance of the gate(THEY WERE REJECTS – OUTCASTS – SELFLESS & NOT SELFCENTERED BUT HAD THE HEART OF A WARRIOR TO GO FORWARD) and they said to one another, Why are we sitting here until we die? 4 If we say, ‘We will enter the city,’ the famine is in the city, and we shall die there. And if we sit here, we die also. Now therefore, come, let us surrender to the army of the Syrians. If they keep us alive, we shall live; and if they kill us, we shall only die.” 5 And they rose at twilight (DIVINE STRATEGY) to go to the camp of the Syrians; and when they had come to the outskirts of the Syrian camp, to their surprise no one was there. 6 For the Lord had caused the army of the Syrians to hear the noise of chariots and the noise of horses—the noise of a great army; so they said to one another, “Look, the king of Israel has hired against us the kings of the Hittites and the kings of the Egyptians to attack us!”(THE BATTLE IS THE LORDS AND HE WILL TAKE CARE OF THE ENEMY AND CAUSE YOU TO REAP WHERE YOU HAVEN’T SOWN)
7 Therefore they arose and fled at twilight, and left the camp intact—their tents, their horses, and their donkeys—and they fled for their lives.8 And when these lepers came to the outskirts of the camp, they went into one tent and ate and drank, and carried from it silver and gold and clothing, and went and hid them; then they came back and entered another tent, and carried some from there also, and went and hid it.
9 Then they said to one another, “We are not doing right. This day is a day of good news, and we remain silent. If we wait until morning light, some punishment will come upon us. Now therefore, come, let us go and tell the king’s household.” 10 So they went and called to the gatekeepers of the city, and told them, saying, “We went to the Syrian camp, and surprisingly no one was there, not a human sound—only horses and donkeys tied, and the tents intact.” 11 And the gatekeepers called out, and they told it to the king’s household inside. (THEY HAD THE RIGHT SPIRIT – A HEART OF LOVE – NOT REVENGE – ANOTHER SPIRIT)

Another case in point – Israel lost the promise land because of unbelief and fear of not wanting to take God’s Prophetic Word and ran with it. Only Joshua and Caleb!

Numbers 14:6-15
6 But Joshua the son of Nun and Caleb the son of Jephunneh, who were among those who had spied out the land, tore their clothes; 7 and they spoke to all the congregation of the children of Israel, saying: “The land we passed through to spy out is an exceedingly good land. 8 If the LORD delights in us, then He will bring us into this land and give it to us, ‘a land which flows with milk and honey.’ 9 Only do not rebel against the LORD, nor fear the people of the land, for they are our bread; their protection has departed from them, and the LORD is with us. Do not fear them.” 10 And the entire congregation said to stone them with stones. Now the glory of the LORD appeared in the tabernacle of meeting before all the children of Israel. Moses Intercedes for the People 11 Then the LORD said to Moses: “How long will these people reject Me? And how long will they not believe Me, with all the signs which I have performed among them?

PLAN OF ACTION
And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate[a] the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit. 2 Corinthians 3:18

Ø  Begin to THANK GOD - PRAISE AND WORSHIP
Ø  After that START mapping out a plan of action – What Next? What are you going to put your faith to? What STEPS are you going to take? Write down your strategies and go for it!

I end with the lyrics of this song:

Ricardo Sanchez - Moving Forward

I’m not going back, I’m moving ahead
I’m here to declare to You, my past is over
In You, old things are made new
Surrendered my life to Christ
I’m moving, moving forward

Verses:
What a moment You have brought me to
Such a freedom I have found in You
You’re the healer who makes all things new
Yeah, Yeah, Yeah

You have risen with all power in Your hands
You have given me a second chance
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Yeah, Yeah, Yeah (repeat)

Bridge:
You make all things new
You make all things new
I will follow You forward

God bless you!
